Babyshambles, the Brit Pop group fronted by the perpetually strung out Pete Doherty, has announced the release of a new five-track EP, The Blinding, due out December 5 on Capitol Records.
Babyshambles was initially formed in 2004 after Doherty was ousted from the acclaimed post punk group The Libertines for failing to show for the band’s European tour and other instable behavior speculated to be caused by a growing drug dependency. Babyshambles’ success grew quickly with the release of Down In Albion in 2005 despite Doherty’s persistent habit of missing and cancelling shows, which resulted in a riot at the London Astoria in December 2004.
