Pixar Announces Summer 2020 Feature Soul

It’s not summer without a good ol’ Pixar film, right? Last summer we beat the heat with the second Incredibles installment and a box of dollar-store candy smuggled in our back pocket. This summer, we’re repeating the routine with the fourth Toy Story film.
In summer 2020, however, we won’t have to worry about sequels: Pixar has just unveiled its newest original feature set to premiere next June, a “journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms” titled Soul.
The official tagline for the film reads: “Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you … YOU?”
Two-time Oscar winner Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out) will be taking up directorial duties and Oscar nominee Dana Murray will produce.
Soul is the studio’s second slated release for 2020, following March 6’s Chris Pratt- and Tom Holland-fronted Onward. Both films mark the studio’s return to chugging out original concepts (lest we forget the ongoing Pixar sequel hellstorm).
Soul will arrive June 19, 2020. Stay tuned for further updates on the production. For now, check out Pixar’s announcement on Twitter below.
