Watch an Exclusive Clip from Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ Season 4

Good news: Kulap Vilaysack’s parody of real estate TV shows, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, has been rescued from the scrap heap of forgotten streaming services. The show’s fourth season, which was left without a home when its original owner shut down in 2017, will finally see the light of day on Pluto TV, Viacom’s free streaming service that can be watched on the internet or through apps on 14 different platforms, including Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, PlayStation consoles and more. The fourth season launched on the Pluto TV channel Funny AF, and a new episode will stream every night this week at 7 p.m. ET. Episodes will also be added to Pluto TV’s On Demand section the day after they debut.

What is Bajillion Dollar Propertie$? Where did it come from? To answer those questions, we have to go all the way back to January 2016.

There used to be a thing called Seeso. It was a streaming service, like Netflix, but focused entirely on comedy. It had a bunch of content from NBC Universal’s vaults, including shows like Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation, along with a dozen or so originals and a slew of stand-up specials. Many of its shows were good, but Seeso never really established a reason for itself to exist, and it fell apart in late 2017, less than two years after it launched. (If you search through Paste Comedy’s archives from 2016 into early 2017, you’ll see that we wrote about Seeso a good bit.)

The funniest of those original shows was Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. Created by Vilaysack and produced by Scott Aukerman of Comedy Bang Bang and Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant of The State, Propertie$ is an absurd parody of the real estate franchise Million Dollar Listing, which follows the vapid idle rich as they overpay for ridiculous estates in scenic locales around Los Angeles. Paul F. Tompkins, equally pompous and pathetic as Platinum Realty owner Dean Rosedragon, heads a cast full of comedy pros, including Drew Carver from The Other Two and Tim Baltz from HBO’s upcoming The Righteous Gemstones. Guests regularly drop by as prospective buyers, including people like Patton Oswalt, Busy Phillips, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Cameron Esposito, Zach Galifianakis, and many more. It’s partially scripted, partially improvised, and almost always hilarious.

In advance of tonight’s episode, here’s a short clip featuring Marc Evan Jackson, who you should recognize from The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and pretty much every other worthwhile TV comedy of the last decade. (He was also in Kong: Skull Island, which is really underrated. Just saying.) Jackson is as imperious and patrician as ever as an old frenemy and rival of Tompkins, whose put-upon buffoonery and awkward, deflated interactions serve as a good example of what to expect from this show.
