Conan O’Brien Must Go In Search of Fans in New Max Travel Series Trailer

Max, the recently transformed service formerly known as HBO Max, has just revealed its series order for Conan O’Brien Must Go, an upcoming, four-episode travel series continuing the comedian and talk show host’s adventures around the globe. Specifically, the series will see Conan visiting some of his biggest fans from around the globe, people he met through his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan … none of whom have any idea that he’ll be randomly showing up on their doorstep. You can see the chuckle-inducing first footage from the series below. Conan’s official rationale? We have this succinct quote: “My fans around the globe never asked me to visit them, so I did.” Pithy, as usual.

Said the folks from HBO Max, meanwhile: “Conan is a national treasure … at least that’s what he keeps telling me,” said Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming. “It’s been an absolute dream to work with him, Jeff, and the whole Conaco team. They’re everything you’d hope for – insanely smart, ridiculously funny, and nicer than they’d probably want to admit.”

It’s been a year or two now since Conan finally hung up his late night TV responsibilities, ending an epic run of almost 28 years, hosting Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien on NBC, followed by Conan for another 11 years on TBS. He subsequently explored travel TV in Conan Without Borders on TBS, visiting 13 countries, while also turning Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend into one of the world’s largest podcasts since 2018. Conan O’Brien Must Go, meanwhile, looks to thrive on the host’s innate skill at interacting with people and pulling the most funny and absurd material out of any situation, whether he’s communing with modern day Vikings in Norway or getting between a rather aggressive mother and her daughter in Thailand. It’s hard not to be charmed, as Conan looks to be in top form throughout.

Conan O’Brien Must Go doesn’t appear to have a set premiere date yet, but we presume it’s probably coming soon. Meanwhile, check out the first footage below.
