The Design Editor will be responsible for maintaining coverage and content in the design section, as well as any and all graphic needs for the site. This position is part-time and remote.
Responsibilities:
• Write features, galleries, news items, and lists for the sections on the site
• Coordinate a team of freelance writers and other editors to accept pitches and produce content
• Manage editorial budget for the section
• Operate and track related social media accounts, respond to and coordinate with readers as needed
• Edit content for brevity and AP style
• Research and fact-check articles before publishing
• Operate in a fast-paced environment
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, graphic design or related field
• 2 to 3 years editorial experience
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, email design
• Experience in web, interactive
• Strong knowledge of grammar and AP Style
• Strong knowledge of design trends (graphic, product, web, interior)
• Website management and maintenance in CMS
• Excellent communication skills
