5 Cocktails Perfect For Mother’s Day Brunch

Mother’s Day is right around the corner (it’s Sunday, May 13th if you’ve forgotten), and our guess is that after putting up with you for so long mom could probably use a drink (or maybe five).
Whether your Mother’s Day plans (you did make plans with mom, right?!) include cooking her an epic brunch or just hanging out on the front porch, these five cocktails are the perfect thing to whip up for mom on her big day.
Yerba Mate Cooler
This especially refreshing cocktail features freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime juice, a kick of ginger, and a dash of blanco tequila. As a bonus, top with champagne for celebratory fizz.
Ingredients:
2 oz. Argentinian yerba mate tea, cooled
2 oz. Pink grapefruit juice
½ oz. Ginger syrup
½ oz. Lime juice
2 oz. Blanco Tequila
Bonus, splash of champagne
Directions: Shake the yerba mate tea, juices and syrup over ice until well chilled. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with a splash of soda. Garnish with a lime wheel and candied ginger. Add 2 oz. of Blanco Tequila!
Rose Water Margarita
Ingredients:
1 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Blanco Tequila
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Grapefruit
6-8 Dashes of Rose Water
2 oz. Champagne (to finish)
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker, add ice. Shake and strain over ice in rocks glass and top with champagne. Garnish with lime wheel or peel and / or rose buds.
Brockmans 75
Ingredients:
2 oz. Brockmans Gin
1 oz. Lemon juice
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
Champagne, Prosecco or quality sparkling wine
Twist of lemon peel to garnish
Directions: Shake gin, lemon juice and simple syrup with ice. Strain into a champagne flute and top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
Verbona Blossom
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. The Botanist Gin
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
.25 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
3 Cucumber Slices (Thin)
Soda water
Directions: In a highball glass, add The Botanist Gin, sweet vermouth and lemon juice. Add cucumber wheels and ice. Top with soda water.
Barbados Slim
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Seasonal Berry Infused Mount Gay® Black Barrel Rum
1.5 oz. Oloroso Sherry
2 grams Turbinado Sugar
Directions: Muddle sugar in glass. Combine ingredients in a shaker. Pour liquid over crushed ice. Garnish with seasonal berries and mint.
