Thursday, Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment announced that their award-winning title The Outer Worlds is coming to the Nintendo Switch on March 6. However, retail options for Switch owners are restricted to digital copies only: There won’t be a cartridge.

Virtuos Games is handling the port, like they did for L.A. Noire. Some players expressed confusion about the company’s decision to only release digital copies, but some were perfectly fine with it:
Hey @OuterWorlds you know that the switch has VERY LIMITED storage space so a physical cartridge of your game would REALLY be nice.
Also if you’re not going to release a cartridge dont make a download code release. It wastes plastic. https://t.co/XuYvpF4aE9

I’m fine with games being digital only…I gt used to it and it’s great to see The Outer Worlds coming to #NintendoSwitch on March 6 (no trailer of this version though?) but selling a retail version with no cart is just a waste of plastic, don’t do this!https://t.co/VYmiMVCGJ4

Check your local retailer for download codes, or reduce your carbon footprint and just download it straight from the Nintendo eShop.
