Captain Marvel has surpassed $1 billion at the box office globally, and has become Marvel Studios’ seventh most successful box office release.
Marvel’s first female-fronted film (out of 20 in the last 11 years) has made $358 million in North America and $645 million overseas, according to Variety.
The ‘90s-set origin story, also Marvel’s first female-directed film (Anna Boden co-helmed alongside Ryan Fleck), hasn’t slowed down since its record-breaking opening weekend, good for the sixth-biggest worldwide debut of all time.

Our girl Carol Danvers just joined the One Billion Club! Thank you endlessly for helping us cross this milestone. It has been a pleasure sharing this character with the world.
