Where to Stream the 2023 Oscar Nominees
This long and drama-filled awards season has given us ample opportunity to debate the worthiness of its contenders—though a moviegoing environment now going full-tilt back into theaters has made many of us remember that, oh yeah, we used to have to do this to see new movies. But maybe once the Academy Awards nominations dropped, you were hit by the full FOMO force of realization: A major player had been overlooked, a sneaky single-award nominee slipped through your fingers or, maybe, you simply forgot about all those short films. The completionist in us all is activated by awards season, and Paste is here to help.
To assist those interested in being as prepared as possible to play along at home, those watching everything over the past year (and change) deemed nomination-worthy or those simply looking to hustle the other participants in their Oscars pool, we’ve rounded up every nominee and where to watch them. You’ll also find links to our coverage of these films, which includes a majority of nominees.
In the recent past, far more of the nominees have been available to stream in the lead-up to the Oscars ceremony. Now, with theaters still milking critical darlings through the sparse winter, many remain on the big screen only. That said, most are on services that you might already have. A few, you’ve gotta rent. Some of the short films are simply not available, probably because they exist solely for the short film festival circuit. But at least you’ll have the information available to you, because we did the digging.
