Watch: Cosmo Gold Are Flies on the Wall in Video for New Single "Drown the Fly"

Indie rockers Cosmo Gold are getting ready for the release of their debut EP, Waiting On The City, and have given listeners a taste with their latest single “Drown The Fly.”

Based in a funky bass line and snappy guitar, “Drown The Fly” is catchy and upbeat, with frontwoman Emily Gold’s sweet vocals as the cherry on top.

The accompanying music video finds the band, dressed in yellow attire, acting as flies on the wall as a woman goes about her day. From the four sitting in her bathtub to them jumping on her bed, the band members are seemingly having more fun than anything else in the music video, and they also look damn cool while doing so.

Ahead of their new single’s release, Cosmo Gold also released single “Dark Matter,” which marks the opening track of the EP. Whereas “Drown The Fly” focuses more on a funky bass and guitar, “Dark Matter” uses Gold’s sweet, but powerful vocals as the main instrument.

With a name change at the start of the year, Cosmo Gold is a byproduct of Gold’s solo project Velvet. Gold’s father, Andrew Gold, is also no stranger to music, with ’70s hits like “Lonely Boy,” “Thank You for Being a Friend” and his work with country’s Linda Ronstadt under his belt.

Waiting On The City is set for release on June 7, with Cosmo Gold heading out on tour with Beauty Queen throughout the summer.
