Today, FACTORY—a genre-evasive, industry-subverting collective formed in 2022 by Halima, Murielle, Von and Sophie Hintze—have unveiled their debut single, “BLOODLINE.” Written, produced, engineered and performed by the group themselves, FACTORY are a much-welcomed breath of fresh air—a rejuvenating force in the DIY capital of the world. The four-piece met at NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and bonded over workshops, mixes, media strategies and visual projects. One of their sessions led to the organic germination of “BLOODLINE,” a boisterous, swaggering track dressed in multi-part harmonies and a stripped-down melody played to a mesmerizing hand-clap beat. It’s not just a song, it’s a reclamation—of relationships and of the self.
“‘BLOODLINE’ was born from our personal transitions, with each of us writing verses based on our interpretation of the word,” the collective says. “Together, we created a song that explores familial wounds, self-empowerment, and the rejection of romance for something truly worthy—marking the moment we fully embraced our creative process.”
