Watch Three Generations of Musicians in Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam’s Video, “A 1000 Times”

Neither Rostam Batmanglij nor Hamilton Leithauser are the true stars of the music video for “A 1000 Times.” The real show-stoppers are their dads.

The music video from the collaborative project Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam features three generations performing the swaggering tune in a school gym-turned-concert venue.

The first generation, played by Sam Nivola, was inspired by a photo Batmanglij repeatedly spotted at his bandmate’s home: it showed a young Leithauser in a white T-shirt and black jeans playing in a band with a few buddies.

The next generation features the duo themselves, and the following, the oldest, are the dads of the two musicians. In fact, Leithauser’s dad is still in a band himself.
