Tour Diary: mercury On the Road With Dreamer Boy

Last month, Tennessee band mercury went on tour with Dreamer Boy across North America, performing their singles “Trying,” “Woolgathering” and “Together We Are One, You and I.” Led by singer, songwriter and bandleader Maddie Kerr, mercury’s music is spectral, devastating and epic—filled with imperfections that will rattle your bones, from haunted vocals by Kerr to impressionistic, swelling guitars that accentuate electrifying portraits of self-doubt and loss. While on the road, Kerr snapped some pictures and was kind enough to share them with us here before playing a headline gig at Third Man Records’ Blue Room in Nashville on June 28th.

Riding the train in D.C. We were so excited about public transportation hahaha. We would sometimes make our trip longer just to get on the train or bus | Photo by mercury

A live shot from the Kansas City show! It’s so much fun to play with this crew. Everyone gets so into it. Billy goes hard and throws his guitar around every single night | Photo by Haley Mullenix

Us and the Dreamer Boy crew after the last show in Kansas City. We adored that crew so much and had the best time in the whole world with them. Such an incredible group of people. It was so hard to part ways!! Every single day was such a special adventure and playing music with some of your best friends in so many amazing cities is the best thing in the whole world. Absolutely cannot wait to do it again. Truly nothing like sharing your heart through music | Photo by Haley Mullenix
