A few weeks ago, the 2025 lineup for Just Like Heaven festival got leaked on the internet, thanks to a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood. There were some good names on there, like Vampire Weekend, Courtney Barnett, the Drums, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Bloc Party and TV On The Radio, but one name stood out: Rilo Kiley. One of the greatest indie rock bands of its era, Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Jason Boesel and Pierre de Reeder were living legends for about 10 years after their initial formation in 1998. Their four-album discography features three of the best albums of the early 2000s, including the one-two punch of The Execution of All Things and More Adventurous in 2002 and 2004, respectively.
But Rilo Kiley officially broke up in 2013, and frontwoman Jenny Lewis has found great success as a solo artist since. But it looks like the impossible is happening: The band has confirmed that they will be reuniting for Just Like Heaven to play their first show in almost two decades. The festival is set to take place May 10 in Pasadena, but Rilo Kiley are teasing an even bigger return for 2025 after that. The band said in a statement: “We are so very excited to come back together for Just Like Heaven in Pasadena, California—Los Angeles. As a band, we began here, and we feel so fortunate to return among so many artists and friends, to this community we hold so dear, in such a beautiful and meaningful place.”
