The Dodos Share Music Video For “Competition”

San Francisco-based indie rocker duo The Dodos have released a brand new video for “Competition” off their sixth studio album Individ.

In the video, which is shot in one long take, lead guitarist and singer Meric Long sits in a dressing room with drummer Logan Kroeber, while strumming his guitar, before walking out onto a stage sans instrument. As the music starts up, Long begins to dance.

The inspiration behind the video comes from Long’s childhood desire to dance. “Growing up I had two older sisters who were both into dance. I would go to their performances and secretly kind of wish I was on stage,” Long tells NPR via email.

The video was directed by Tyler McPherron and choreographed by Katie Gaydos. You can read our review for Individ here.
