The Weeknd Donated $250,000 to Black Lives Matter

To show his support, the R&B singer-songwriter also announced on Wednesday that he is donating $250,000 to the Black Lives Matter Network, per the Associated Press.

According to The FADER, this donation comes following the Canadian singer’s $50,000 donation (though the AP reports the amount to be $38,000) to The University of Toronto this weekend to create an Ethiopic Studies program.
Other artists, like Beyoncé and Jay Z, have also previously donated money to Black Lives Matter.
