Vampire Weekend played their first shows in four years over the weekend in Ojai, Calif. Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson were joined by two new touring members, Springtime Carnivore’s Greta Morgan and Human Natural’s Brian Roberts.
In addition to playing their self-titled debut album in full, the band had a few tricks up their sleeves. They brought out rapper iLoveMakonnen to perform his collab with the band’s frontman, “Down 4 So Long,” as well as his hit “Tuesday.” They also performed Ezra’s track with SBTRKT, “NEW DORP. NEW YORK.”
The band also teased a new song reportedly called “Flower Moon,” featuring The Internet’s Steve Lacy. Koenig candidly paused while playing the song, adding, “and then Steve Lacy goes: ‘gonna take a yeeaaar.’”
With a string of performances lined up and their new album being “94.5 percent done,” we’re hoping it’s not long before we get to hear more from Vampire Weekend’s highly anticipated fourth LP. Watch clips from the Libbey Bowl below, beneath Paste audio from the band’s 2007 Daytrotter Session.
