Georgia Republicans Are Currently Waging a War to See Who Can Be the Most Racist on TV

There’s a governor’s race happening in Georgia, and judging by the tactics of the candidates competing in the Republican primary, it’s all coming down to which one of them can publicly hate immigrants the most. For starters, look at this buffoon:

If you can’t watch the video, that’s a campaign ad featuring Brian Kemp, Georgia’s current secretary of state and gubernatorial hopeful. For his tagline, he chose: “If you want a politically incorrect conservative, that’s me.” This desperate attempt to cultivate Trump supporters, and cast himself as the Georgian Trump, yields one particularly ugly sequence. From Mother Jones:

Brian Kemp…suggests he intends to personally detain and remove immigrants from the country. “I got a big truck,” he says, climbing into a pick-up truck, “just in case I need to round up criminal illegals and take ’em home myself.” He then adds with a smirk: “Yep, I just said that.”

Just like Trump, folks! Minus even an ounce of charisma, that is. But if you thought Kemp was going to distinguish himself as the most racist candidate seeking that specific office, you’ve got another think coming. Because state Sen. Michael Williams, who is running against Kemp, heard “deportation truck” and said “hold my beer”:

His schtick was so racist he needed a full minute! And the centerpiece is an actual “deportation bus”:

Metal grating covers the windows of the gray bus, and the words “Fill this bus with illegals” run along its side. On the back it reads: “Danger! Murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molesters, and others on board.” Then, “Follow me to Mexico.” Williams has taken the bus to areas with large immigrant populations, dubbing them “sanctuary cities”—even though Georgia outlawed sanctuary jurisdictions in 2009.

YouTube took it down as “hate speech,” but now it’s back up. Which is great, because nothing says “conservative America” like a couple of white dudes threatening to kidnap immigrants on their own.

These two idiots are currently behind Lieutenant Gov. Casey Cagle in the Republican race, but Kemp (the truck guy) is actually in second. Lest you believe Cagle is above the fray, though, there’s this:

“Criminal illegal aliens are spreading across the country,” Cagle says. “Liberal politicians in sanctuary cities are shielding them, making it possible for them to terrorize us on our streets.”

Again, it must be emphasized that Georgia has no f*%*ing sanctuary cities. Don’t these idiots have any local issues to campaign on? Or are they so enamored with Trump mobilizing the racist right that they can’t resist the siren call to walk in his footsteps?

The primary will be held on May 22, with a potential runoff to follow if none of these cretins gets a majority.
